Open call: eight places on the Bologna method lab, February 2027
Five days of shared rehearsal practice for theatre-makers and mental health practitioners working together. Free to attend, with travel and accommodation covered.
Arte e Salute opens applications for the first Theatrum Animi method lab. From 8 to 12 February 2027, eight participants will work in Bologna with the company’s directors and practitioners on the questions that make this work difficult in practice: how you build an ensemble when attendance is unpredictable, how you hold a rehearsal room when someone needs to leave it, and how you keep artistic standards without turning them into a barrier.
The lab is aimed at people who already work at this intersection — directors, facilitators, occupational therapists, drama therapists, peer workers, producers, and who have a live project they can bring with them. You do not need a research background, and you do not need to speak Italian; the lab runs in English.
Applications are open to practitioners based in any Creative Europe country. Priority goes to applicants from the seven partner countries and to teams applying in pairs — one artist, one practitioner, because that is the working relationship the lab is designed to strengthen.
What comes out of the lab goes back into the partnership. Sessions are documented, and the methods tested in Bologna feed directly into the shared methodology we publish in 2028.
